Spinster Shopping: Sleep Tees

So, a few months ago, I was in Walmart and randomly bought a tee shirt dress they had in their sleepwear section. Since then, I've only taken breaks from the thing to wash it, and when I have to sleep in something else, it just seems less wonderful than it could have been. The sleep tee is excellent because it's got sleeves, so my shoulders aren't trying to slip out all night. It's also long enough that if I throw on a jacket over it, I can go outside and walk Miranda while wearing it, and no one will bat an eye. This makes for perfect spinster wear in that it can go seamlessly from day into night. By night I mean sleeping, not dining. I mean, well, unless we're talking takeout...

As such, I did a little searching around the internet, because I knew that all my Spinsters would need to know about the opportunities for luxuriating in absolute comfort in their spinster lairs. Above you'll find a collage of excellent options. Not all of them are technically tee-shirt shaped, but I think you'll find they work quite nicely. Some are incredibly affordable, while some are higher-end. Whatever you choose, I think a nice new nightie is the perfect way to freshen up your summer.

Now, let's get to linking!

1. Faded Glory Women's Sleep Tee: $9.88, Walmart
This is just your basic tee shirt dress night gown. How can you go wrong? It's even under $10, so I think this is a win all the way around.

I think this pretty much sums up my Spinster life. Except my walks to the fridge are less romantic and more...companionable...since my puppy's the one escorting me.

This one is the most expensive on the list, and I know it's a bit more of a nightie than it is a tee. However, it's very pretty, and Eberjey takes great care to choose really soft, lovely fabrics. This would definitely be a luxury item for most Spinsters, but just because no one sees your pajamas doesn't mean you shouldn't indulge in some nice ones if you want them.

So, I added this one to the collage, and then when I went to link you to it, the style pictured above is actually gone. However, The Mountain has excellent sleep tee options, and since their fabric is 100% cotton, they get softer and softer the more you wash and wear. That's what I like to see in a pajama.

This is for those of us who want to make sure we have a sturdy, long-lasting night shirt. You can also have it monogrammed so that when everyone else's falls apart, you'll know yours is safe.

The blue colorway of this nightie is also really excellent. If I bought this, though, I may be really tempted to wear it as an outside-the-apartment dress to the grocery store. Do we think anyone would know? Also, Gap Pjs are generally excellent.

I liked how this one had little tulle ruffles. It adds a little femininity to the whole oversized-tee thing.

I think the nightdress says it all. I don't need to explain any further.

I think this is a nice happy medium between something with sleeves and something that has straps that continuously slip off in the night. The construction of a racerback makes it really difficult for your strap to escape your shoulder without you making a conscious (and awake) effort.

I just liked the stripes on this one. I felt like they went out of their way to make this a more designed piece instead of just a basic stripe. Good on you, DKNY.

I'm not even sure if Marks and Spencer ships to the US, but I'm always impressed with their selection. I think they're kind of like Target here in the US, but when I was in London, the ones I saw always looked really well-edited. You can't see it in this image, but this night shirt has lace insets at the shoulders.

This is more o fa night gown than a tee shirt, but it's very cute, a little girly, and definitely easy to wear. There's even a little flutter sleeve and some shirring and a tiny bow at the front.

I hope you've seen something here today that you feel the need to purchase. If you enjoy sleep and lounging as much as I do, you will not be disappointed.

Happy Thursday!
